ARKANSAS RIVER (COLORADO) FISHING REPORT AND CONDITIONS Located in central Colorado. The Arkansas River finds it's beginnings near the town of Leadville and flows south and east through the towns of Buena Vista, Salida, Canon City and Pueblo. It's most famous landmark is the Royal Gorge, a deep canyon cut by the Arkansas River just west of Canon City. The "Ark" is a prolific brown trout fishery and a popular whitewater rafting river and destination. A new and productive tailwater fishery has been created below Pueblo Reservoir in the city of Pueblo, Colorado, providing anglers a great winter trout tailwater fishing destination.
