What
is Micro Fiber?
Microfiber
is a fiber with less than 1 denier per filament. (Denier is a measure
of linear density and is commonly used to describe the size of a fiber
or filament. Nine thousand meters of a 1-denier fiber weigh one gram.)
Fibers are combined to create yarns. Yarns are knitted or woven in a
variety of constructions. While many microfibers are made of polyester,
they can also be composed of polyamide or other polymers.
Micro-fiber cloths
are made of Micro-Fiber threads that are approximately 80% Polyester
and 20% Polyamide (Nylon). Each single thread of micro-fiber is 1/100th
of the thickness of a human hair. Micro-fiber cloth is the fabric of
choice for performance situations where a regular cloth would not be
as soft and non-abrasive to delicate surfaces, nor lift dirt, dust,
and particles to clean as effectively.
Hypoallergenic
and Great for the Environment!
The Handy
Map Microfiber Cloth traps dust and dirt, and can be used
to clean dry as a dust rag or wet with only water. That is because the
filaments in the Handy Map Cloth
are positively charged, while dust and dirt carry a negative charge.
Our quality microfiber
will quite literally pick up all foreign materials! Used dry, the Handy
Map micro fibers act like a dust magnet. Used wet, with
simply water or a tiny amount of detergent, the Handy
Map micro fibers become formidable scrubbers, easily tackling
the toughest grime.
