Flyfisher’s Guide to California author Greg Vinci grew up fishing the trout of the Sierras and northern California steelhead, and has been in the fly tackle industry for 23 years. Since he sold Sierra Pacific Products in 2010, he has been writing and photographing for many flyfishing and outdoor magazines such as Fly Fisherman, American Angler, Flyfishing & Tying Journal, Salmon & Steelhead Journal, Northwest and Southwest Fly Fishing magazines, California Fly Fisher, Sierra Heritage and Runner’s World. He has continued to develop fly tackle products for clients in the fly tackle industry.


Flyfisher’s Guide to Colorado author Marty Bartholomew has been a fly tier for over 15 years, 12 years of that as a fly-tying instructor. He has instructed flyfishing for nine years, as well as guiding part-time. He has been a featured presenter at fly tying shows in Colorado and California and is currently on the pro staff with Ross Reels and Scott Rods. He has lived in Colorado all his life, flyfishing its rivers extensively over the last 16 years. Marty lives in Aurora, Colorado, with his wife and two children.


Author of the Flyfisher’s Guide to New England and Flyfishing Northern New England Seasons, Lou Zambello, is a former LLBean executive who is now a small business consultant and has been a registered Maine Guide in the Rangeley, Maine area for 14 years. He is a Maine Sportsman columnist. Lou has been flyfishing in northern New England for 35 years and has traveled to Canada, Russia, and across the U.S. to pursue his passion. He speaks regularly at flyfishing forums and events around the country. Lou and his wife Lindsey spend fishing season at their house on Kennebago Lake.


Author of the Flyfisher’s Guide to the Big Apple, Flyfisher’s Guide to Eastern Trophy Tailwaters, and the new Flyfisher’s Guide to Pennsylvania, Tom Gilmore has flyfished around the world for over 40 years. He has given well over 100 programs on flyfishing for everything from trout to bonefish, permit, tarpon, billfish and tuna. Tom was recognized by The Star Ledger newspaper as Winner of the Year, for his work to save the Highlands. New Jersey Monthly magazine recognized Tom as one the “101 Most Influential People in New Jersey.” He has received many other conservation-related awards and accolades.


Flyfisher’s Guide to Montana and On the Fly Guide to the Northern Rockies author Chuck Robbins is a freelance writer and photographer and fishing guide who hangs his hat in Dillon, Montana, with wife and partner Gale and Katie the Wirehair. A lifelong flyfisher, Robbins has traveled extensively along the back roads of Montana in search of the best the outdoors has to offer. His writing has appeared in numerous magazines and books, including Odyssey at Limestone Creek and On the Fly Guide to the Northern Rockies.


Flyfisher’s Guide to Colorado’s Lost Lakes and Secret Places author Mike Kephart was raised in Perryville, a small town on the edge of the Ozark Mountains in southern Missouri. Living there taught him to respect the land and the animals that share the earth with us. He fished the streams, lakes, and ponds for bass and bluegill and continues to enjoy solo hiking and flyfishing expeditions into the mountain wildernesses of Colorado and nearby states. Author of the Flyfisher’s Guide to Wyoming and co-author of the Flyfisher’s Guide to Idaho, Ken Retallic, a flyfisher for more than 25 years, lives in the golden circle of trout that includes Wyoming and Yellowstone. He has been an outdoors editor and writer, envi­ronmental reporter, wildlife photographer, and city editor for the Idaho Falls Post Register and Grand Forks Herald. Retallic started his own business in 1995, specializing in nature writing and wildlife photography. He is Region 6 director for the Idaho Trout Unlimited council. He and his wife, Laurie, live in Idaho Falls with their youngest daughter, Michelle.


For three decades, the author of the Complete Angler’s Guide to Oregon and the On the Fly Guide to the Northwest, John Shewey has explored waters, from the beaches and bays to the highest lakes and from the most popular destinations to the most remote corners of the world. A life-long devotee to fly fishing, wingshooting, and other outdoor pursuits, John is currently the managing editor of Northwest Fly Fishing, Southwest Fly Fishing and Eastern Fly Fishing magazines. John has penned hundreds of articles and published countless photographs in many magazines and to date has authored 15 books about fly fishing and wingshooting. Included in his titles are Steelhead Flies, On the Fly Guide to the Northwest, and Wingshooter’s Guide to Oregon.
